Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Publisher: Maylen Holdings LTD (Dataxad)

This policy covers Undermined, our game for the web (undermined.dataxad.com), Android (Google Play) and iOS (TestFlight). It explains what the game sends, why, and how long we keep it.

The short version

Solo play (Campaign, Arcade and Map Maker) sends no data from your device.

Room-code Multiplayer only works by sending data to our servers: a random guest ID, the room PIN, your pilot name, your ship actions, your chat lines and, if you invite players to a map you made, that map.

The other players in your room see your pilot name, your ship, your chat lines and any map you share.

There are no accounts, ads, in-app purchases or tracking. We do not sell your data, and we do not link it to your identity.

This version of the game sends no analytics.

Rooms and invitations

Each Multiplayer room has a 4-digit PIN. Anyone who has the PIN can join while the room is open, up to 8 players.

Share gives you an invitation link: https://undermined.dataxad.com/?room= followed by the PIN. The link opens the web version of the game and joins the room. Only send it to people you want to play with.

Because a PIN is short, someone you did not invite could join an open room by chance. Keep personal information out of chat, pilot names and map titles.

The room PIN is kept until the room closes: up to 5 minutes after the last player leaves or loses the connection, or up to 15 minutes after a player hides the game.

What Multiplayer sends

Guest ID
A random code that our room service gives your device the first time you play Multiplayer. It does not come from your device, an advertising ID or an account. Other players do not see it, but their devices receive it with each chat line so that a report can identify the sender. It stays on your device until you delete the app or clear the site data. The room service keeps it with a room until the room closes, and with a report or a block for up to 30 days.
Room PIN
Our room service and the game host receive it. The room service keeps it until the room closes, or for 30 days as part of a report.
Pilot name
Published versions of the game always use the name "Pilot", so you cannot enter your own name. The game host shows it to the other players in the room and keeps it in memory only for the game.
Ship and game data
Your controls, position, shots, damage and score. The game host shares them with the other players in the room. The host keeps a log of game events and guest IDs, which it replaces each time it restarts. The log contains no pilot names, chat lines or IP addresses.
Shared maps
If you invite players to a map you made in Map Maker, the game sends that map, including its title, to the game host, which sends it to each player who joins. The host holds the map in memory for the game. The room service keeps only a fingerprint (hash) and the size of the map, until the room closes.
Chat lines
Up to 80 characters each, and only while the game is loading. The game host passes each line to the other players in the room. We do not store chat lines, except for the one line kept with a report for 30 days.
IP address
Cloudflare receives it to deliver data to and from your device. Our room service uses it in memory for rate limits, for one hour at most. It is not written to storage, and request logs are turned off.

Chat safety

The game shows the chat rules before your first message: no hate, threats, sexual content or personal information.

A word filter removes slurs from chat lines and pilot names.

Mute: select Mute on a chat line or a name to hide that player's messages for the rest of the session.

Report: select Report on a chat line to send it to us. Reporting also mutes the sender. Only players in the same room can report. A report contains the room PIN, the line, the time, your guest ID, and the sender's guest ID and pilot name. We keep reports for 30 days.

A person at Dataxad reviews the reports. If a player breaks the rules, we can block their guest ID from Multiplayer for up to 30 days.

To turn chat off completely, go to Settings > Chat. The full rules are on the Undermined chat rules page.

What stays on your device

The game saves your settings, campaign progress, chat setting, the maps you make in Map Maker and your guest ID on your device: in the app's private storage, or in your browser's storage for the site. Deleting the app or clearing the site data erases all of it. The game itself sets no cookies.

Analytics

The game contains code for anonymous gameplay analytics, but it is turned off in this version and the game does not ask about it. Before we turn it on, we will update this policy, and the game will ask for your consent first.

Who handles your data

Cloudflare, Inc. runs our room service and the network connection to our game hosts, as our service provider. The game hosts are computers we operate ourselves. We do not sell your data or give it to any other company.

Children

Undermined is not intended for children under 13. There is no age check, and chat is on by default; a parent can turn it off in Settings > Chat.

If you believe a child under 13 has used Multiplayer, contact us and we will delete any reports we can find for that child.

Your choices and rights

To delete your guest ID, delete the app or clear the site data. The game gets a new one the next time you play Multiplayer.

To delete a report, email us with the room PIN and the time. We do not know your name or email address, so we need these details to find it.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as the right to complain to a data protection authority. Contact us to use them.

Security

Multiplayer data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS and WSS). A game host accepts a player only with a signed ticket that is valid for a single connection.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date before the new version of the game is released.
